Firefly by Modern_Sims

Positives: Good-looking house (at least, it seems so from the screenshots).

Includes custom pattern.

Negatives: Pay item.

No shots inside or around back.

I can't tell if there's any store content.

The Victoria by

Positives: Charming house. The kitchen is actually what did it for me this time. Awesome colors in there.

Negatives: Official store items, which won't appear if you don't own them.

Chateau Elinore by cyclonesue

Positives: Huge castle decorated with what looks like all basegame content. I'm extremely impressed.

Negatives: Pay item.

The Addison by kbradley03

Positives: It's a great house, good architecture, love the gazebo and landscaping. Good landscaping really is hard to find.

Negatives: Official store content. I've said it before, I'll say it every time this subject comes up: including store content is annoying because people who don't own that content end up with empty rooms.

At the very least, include a second version of the house that uses basegame-only content (or custom, even!) for people who can't see store furniture. If the site you're on won't let you put down an alternate basegame download, consider switching host sites. Seriously.

Brown's Farm by cyclonesue

Positives: Reminds me of the last big farmhouse I listed, but without the insulting amount of pay content and lack of notes.

Negatives: Need to download Rivertown for the silo to show up, but you can use it without doing so. Luckily, Rivertown is free.

Farmhouse by nadieasimsmissdd

Positives: Big, charming, creative. Tons of detail. Good architecture. Great for farmers and fishermen.

Negatives: Uses items from the official store. I have said this before: I hate downloading houses I have to fix because I don't have the right pay content. Three rooms are completely empty.

The sandy ground cover squares off against the edge of the lot.

Due to my not having Rivertown: there is no scarecrow, no trough, no boxes in the little outbuilding, and no sign on the dock.

You do need the outdoor Rivertown items for this lot to show properly. I'm annoyed that the creator does not mention this. Never ever ever assume that your downloaders know where things are from.

Country Farmstead by cyclonesue

Positives: Charming, creative, and modest 3-bedroom home for your country Sims. Though rural, this property still holds a certain elegance and pride.

I love love love what she did with the ground textures to make this lot come alive.

Negatives: 38k-59k

Lux Mansion by amiao103103

Positives: Very nice building structure and grounds, including the pavilion around back.

Negatives: STORE ITEMS!! (Storybook Set)

I hate seeing store items in downloads. The point of downloading is that you don't have to fix things and recolor and make everything nice, because someone else does it for you.

Farmer's House by evi

Positives: Great for your rustic farmer Sims. A little poor, a little run-down, but full of personality. The inside is equally rustic, and the unfurnished version is a neat $20,000 for just-starting Sims.

Negatives: Very specialized house type -- too country for most Sims? $45,000 furnished.

House Casper by francien

Positives: A smaller country home for your Sims. I find the architecture, ponds, and foliage charming. One of the screenshots over the second pond (ditch, according to creator) looks almost like a Monet painting.

Negatives: $47,500. Only partly furnished. Not decorated inside. No screenshots of the interior layout.

PCH-09176 Country Estate by Pinecat

Positives: A pleasant country estate for your Sims, complete with stream and pond.

Fully furnished and decorated. I'm very impressed by the detail put into this house, both inside and out.

Negatives: 90k-175k

Enchanted Forest Cottage by ruthless_kk

Positives: Amazing interior decorating, adorable outside. The whole thing just oozes quaint medieval charm.

Negatives: $44,600-$67,700. Only one bedroom, unless you're willing to change the office into a second bedroom.

Belle Vista by maven2379

Positives: Classy modern mansion.

Negatives: $135,000-$227,500. Maven also used some official store items which won't show up if you don't have them, something I don't support as a practice. If you're going to furnish a house (or decorate a Sim), don't tease downloaders with things that won't work.

Castles by CaliforniaBound

Positives: Terrific realistic castles.

Negatives: Several are exterior-only, so if you want your Sims to live inside, check the details and decide how much work you're willing to put into decorating.

Seaview Manor by erwinsims

Positives: Who doesn't want a castle? Truly lovely grounds. Though no fairy tale turrets, I could see your Sim royalty living here.

Negatives: Only partly furnished. Minimum $350,000 buy price.
