Install Helper Monkey by Delphy

Positives: Installs .package files for you instead of making you have to drag them to the correct folder. Just download, install, and start right-clicking .package files to install them to game (see image above for list of options when a file is right-clicked).

I have to admit, I had trouble getting my .packages to work until I used this. Now, I never have to worry about .packages again.

Negatives: If you don't read the instructions, you won't know how to use it and will get confused and try to "open" the program to install packages. (But if you try to open the program, it gives you an error message directing you to right-click the package itself, so even this negative is only a minor inconvenience.)

CAS Slider Hack by Rick & Delphy

Positives: Extends the Sim sliders in Create A Sim so your features get more range.

Negatives: If someone without the hack downloads and tries to tinker with the Sim using sliders, the feature in question will snap back to normal range. Also, pushing fat and fit sliders to the limit "can cause issues with the in-game fitness/fatness code."

Pattern Packager by Delphy

Positives: Lets you build your own patterns to apply to clothing and random junk. No installation required, performs a task that is a necessary building block for Sims 3 creation.

Negatives: Lots of tutorials to read if you want to do things right, but that's the nature of patterns in the game and not a fault of the program. You need at least a bit of knowledge on how to separate colors using vectors, but I think all current image editing programs have that feature.
